PISE reaches thousands of people in our community each year, including:

10,000+ children in physical literacy enriched programs

1200 Performance Athletes

300+ persons with a disability

The current 75,000 square foot facility includes classrooms, fitness and strength training facilities, a double gymnasium, an all-weather multi-sport playing field, 400 metre track, athletic therapy clinic, performance sport services, sport technology research lab, an ergonomic centre and outdoor training surfaces. The Field of Dreams project includes replacement of our turf field and several enhancements which include the following.

Field Replacement

After 10 years of high community use, PISE must replace the Alex Campbell Field turf. On average, the field is enjoyed by 225 people each day, primarily for child/youth skill development and soccer programs. Replacement plans include an environmentally friendly and non-toxic, high quality artificial turf resulting in a 30% reduction in surface temperature.

LED Lighting Around Field

The project includes plans for replacement of the field lights with environmental LED lights. This maintenance-free, energy-saving lighting will ensure community safety while using the field at night.

Front Court Yard Multi-Sport Surface - NOW COMLETE!

Conversion of the front court yard to a multi-sport, fully accessible training surface. This will create easier access to the building for persons with a disability and a cooler shaded training area for everyone in the summer months.

Gymnasium - Near Completion.

Resurfacing of gymnasium floor and new spectator stands with accessible seating for Camosun Chargers games, competitions and community events.

Accessible doors – NOW COMPLETE!

Addition of more accessible door openers throughout the building including classrooms, bathrooms and common areas.
