Basketball Youth Development

Learn basketball skills and concepts within a 3 on 3 play environment

Join our Basketball Skills Development Program, designed for young athletes eager to elevate their game. Our sessions focus on improving fundamental skills, including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense, while also emphasizing teamwork and sportsmanship. With expert coaching and a supportive environment, players will build confidence on the court and enhance their basketball IQ.

Open to children aged 9-12, this program is designed to enhance individual basketball skills and develop key concepts within a 3-on-3 half-court environment. Sessions will be held every Sunday morning in the beautiful PISE gymnasium 6 sessions.

Coaches:

  • Clint Hamilton, BEd, MEd – Former university and New Brunswick Canada Games coach with extensive youth coaching experience in Victoria.
  • Terrell Evans – Former Professional Basketball Player/Head Coach & CEO The Grind Basketball.

A dynamic indoor/outdoor class is tailored for individuals seeking a challenging yet rewarding experience. Combining advanced strength training, cardio, and functional movements, these sessions are designed to elevate your fitness to the next level. Whether you’re an intermediate athlete looking to push your limits or an advanced enthusiast seeking continuous improvement, Weekday Warrior provides the perfect blend of intensity and variety.

Under the leadership of Jen Klein, a certified PT and kettlebell coach, licensed skydiver, black belt kickboxer, lawyer, and currently pursuing a master’s degree in counseling, you’ll experience a series of workouts designed to boost strength, endurance, and overall athleticism.

Do you have a busy schedule, that you know in advance? You can pre-select your weeks with this class!

PISE Kindergym (Ages 1-4)

The PISE Kindergym provides an opportunity for children ages 1-4 to explore different types of play based movement, specialized equipment and will allow them to build socioemotional skills with others! PISE staff will be present to play, assist with equipment and supervise the Kindergym. Participants will have access to our gymnastics equipment and and a rotating variety of specialized equipment such as our balance bikes and more!

NCCP Making Ethical Decisions

By successfully completing the Make Ethical Decisions workshop you will be fully equipped to handle virtually any ethical situation with confidence and surety.

MED is one of the NCCP’s cornerstone workshops, and leaves coaches with no doubt as to what to do when the going gets tough.

Upon completing the MED module you’ll be able to:

  • analyze a challenging situation and determine if it has moral, legal or ethical implications;
  • apply the NCCP Ethical Decision-Making Model to properly respond to each situation in a way that is consistent with the NCCP Code of Ethics.

Additionally, as part of the Coaching Association of Canada new mental health and sport project funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada, Make Ethical Decisions will be offered for FREE. Check out the CAC Mental Health and Sport Resource Hub to learn more and access some useful resources.
